Happy New Year everyone. The past month has been very busy. First we would like to thank everyone for making Easton's first Christmas a great one. Easton still isn't teething but a lot of other things have been happening. I'll start off by saying Easton has come a long way in the past month. He is now able to crawl forward! (although only on his stomach) He started this shortly after Christmas. He received at toy that came with a plastic golf ball that he couldn't put down (Thanks Maria). We found him scooching forward towards it one day to pick it up. And he's only been improving, making his way all around the basement. The odd thing is that he'll crawl with the golf ball in his left hand. As if he were carrying football. Now he trys to get to the cats. Sasha and Stardust are very patient with him. They'll wait until he crawls to about half a foot away from them and then they dart off. So Easton hasn't been able to tear any of their hair out. He does get into the DVD rack though and has a great time making a mess. Today he found where the CDs are kept. Which they don't stand a chance against him.
As we mentioned before Easton was able to crawl backwards on his hands and knees a little as well as sit up if we sat him that way. Now he is able to join the two to be able to sit up on his own. He'll start by crawling backwards until his legs just slip underneath him. And Voila! Sitting up all by himself. We'll have to start baby proofing what we need to, as being able to sit up allows him to access a lot more around the basement and upstairs. After all this good stuff he still wakes up a few nights a week. The only thing now is that he wants Tami to rock him back to sleep. I've tried a few times to quiet him but he'll cry until I pass him to Tami. Then he just stops. It's a little strange since a couple weeks ago I was able to put him back to sleep.
I don't think that type of scenario works for Tami. :-) It's 1:02 AM and we just tried letting him cry with me holding him until he went to sleep. He cried for 25 minutes straight and then started to nod off. He'll probably have a sore throat tomorrow. But Tami can't always get him in the middle of the night. She also goes back to work May 1st. We hope Easton always sleeps through the night by then, or we'll have to come up with some sort of schedule between Tami and myself. Well o.k. enough talking. Here are some new picutures.
Quick Note: I m planning on putting some movie clips of Easton on-line this week. So check back later for the one of Tami trying to feed him and his sitting up video. Take care.
