Easton Update: March 18, 2006

Hello Everyone, Easton is 11 months old this month.

There has been a lot that has been going on this past month. The most exciting things is that Easton is able to climb upstairs from the basement all by himself. Of course Tami or myself are watching him when he does. Also Tami took Easton swimming at the Steinbach indoor pool with a moms and babies group she gets together with. She said Easton did alright and even had him under water once or twice. He doesn't like getting water in his face much (heck even getting his face wiped after he eats is annoying to him). Easton also started pointing at things he finds interesting and seems to want to know what there are. Sometimes it looks like he isn't even pointing at anything. Tami and I usually just explain to him the closest object. He also is very vocal when he doesn't get his way. For example, he likes being picked up by us so he can point at things. If we're eating supper, he'll get annoyed that we're not paying attention to him and start to be pretty vocal. He understands shortly after that we're eating and finds one of his many toys laying around to play with for a while.

Easton has also figured out how to turn on the upstairs TV. He doesn't do it so much to watch the TV, but just to turn it on. He also can shut it off if he wants to. He seems to be becoming a real button pusher. Tami is trying to get us into a baby swim class at the Wellness Institute. I can't wait to play with Easton in a pool. You'll also notice in the pictures that Easton likes to play with my turntables and records. He's pretty rough with them as he like to rip the records right off the platter. I had to go buy some cheaper needles as at first I didn't think he would rip the records off in the middle of playing. Needles to say I lost a couple needles very quickly. Babies have a habit of not knowing their own strength. I fear for every electronic piece of equipment in our house. :-) Tami and her mom gave Easton his first haircut as well. His hair was starting to get a little long in the front and along the ears. He seems to be even more cute with straight bangs.
