Easton Update: April 18, 2006

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EASTON!

Yes, today Easton turns 1 year old. It's been very busy leading up to his first birthday. Tami made birthday cupcakes for her moms group. A special thank you to everyone at the moms group for the awesome day you set up for Easton and thank you for the gift. We have a family birthday supper for Easton on Sunday and I'm sure there will be more pictures and videos to post later. So you should check back at the end of the month as there will be a second update for April. It's been a special year with Easton. There has been a lot of adjusting and as much I as say it's been hard work, it really isn't hard taking care of someone you love so much.

Easton has been getting better at walking around furniture and can stand up (without anyone holding him) if only for a few seconds. As soon as he realizes no one is holding him he ends up back on his knees. We have a small basketball hoop downstairs that he really enjoys and he can even put the ball in the hoop all by himself. Some of the biggest news is that he is finally getting teeth. Yes, just before the year was up he two front bottom teeth have showed up. They're not all the way up yet but enough that if he bites hard enough you'll feel them. Note: he doesn't really bite that much. :)

In addition to all that he's been babbling even more. When he gets going it sounds like you can almost have a conversation with him. But he also has started to have these little temper tantrums when he doesn't get his way. I find them more funny than anything since he jiggles his whole body when he does. We're able to feed Easton more and more regular food, but he still loves his cereal and yogurt. Tami still can't get him to eat meat though. At Easter I thought he would for sure eat some ham since that tastes so good, but he wouldn't go for it.

Tami also goes back to work in May so it will be interesting to see how well he does with Tami's mom. We have a good feeling about it since she's baby sat before. But we'll have to see how a whole day goes. Well thank all of you who sent cards (we read Easton all of them) and called. Take care, Mark.
