Easton Update: April 22, 2007

Happy Birthday Easton! The past week has been very busy, and even before I get into Easton's Birthday, I have to tell you about our trip to Florida. We went down to Florida at the end of March for Auntie Andrea and Uncle Gord's wedding, and luckily for us Easton was still able to fly free. Since he was still under two years old at the time, he was able to sit on our laps for the flights. Easton behaved really well on the plane (for the most part). Try to keep a toddler quiet in a 2' x 2' space for a total flying time of about 5 1/2 hours, and then back home again. One of the good things is that Easton was mostly asleep for the takeoffs and landings, so the pressure changes didn't phase him.

Once in Florida, the weather was nice, the wedding went really well, and Easton found out that golf carts are great. Our condo had one, and Easton wanted to go for rides all the time. He even had to carry around the golf cart key for most of the holiday. We also went swimming, and went down to Key West, which he really enjoyed the boat ride to.

For Easton's birthday, we were trying to make him understand how old he was. We're not sure if he really did understand the concept of age, but he did understand that there would be cake involved. We had family down for pizza and cake, and Easton was spoiled again with birthday presents. It will probably take him a while to get good use out of them all. Tami made him a wonderful fire engine cake, and he also tried to blow out his own candle. His aim was a little off, so Tami had to help him out. I think she was secretly making him miss, and wanted to blow out the candle for herself. :-)

Take care,
Mark, Tami and Easton
