Easton Update: May 18, 2006

This is just going to be a quick update since we are heading to Regina in the morning and it's already 12:30 AM. In the past month Easton finally got his first cold. Not too bad going through the first year with only a few sneezes. But that first cold was followed up by a second one. Two in one month you ask? Well it seems with the shots that he gets at 1 year old, they have a tendancy to cause babies to get colds sometimes, or so I've heard. Easton does seem to be getting over this most recent cold. Good thing too as it's going to take us about 7 hours to get to Regina and the last thing we need is a cranky baby all the way there. The bright side is he might be extra tired and sleep most of the way there. :-)

As for new milestones, Easton can crawl backwards downstairs now. He did it the first time for Tami upstairs by the front door. When I saw him do it, he was crawling upstairs with a CD in his hand and he dropped it. I told him if he wanted to get it he would have to crawl all the way down to the bottom of the steps. And he did. Yeah! We still watch him while he does it but he's pretty good at it. His teeth are coming in nicely too. I mentioned last month his bottom two teeth came in at the same time. Well now the top two teeth came in at the same time. Maybe that's why he's been cranky lately. :-)

Easton is also very excited about going outside for stroller rides. He'll actually try to pull himself into his stroller and point outside. Also if the side door is open he'll crawl over there. Turns around and backs out of the house and down the cement steps onto the side walk. Tami is back at work now and we drop Easton off at Tami's moms place. The first few days he didn't cry when we left but near the end of the week he got the idea the we won't come back for 9 hours. And the tears started to flow. The second week started off with him crying again. Tami's mom said it was only for about 10 minutes after we left, then that went down to 5 minutes later in the week. Now he just seems to get a little concerned with a few small cries. He loves when we show up to pick him up. He's usually by the screen door banging on the window to say hello.

Well enough talk, below are Easton's 1 year old baby pictures. They were taken at Wal-Mart on McPhillips and we think they turned out awesome. Take care, Mark
